The Area 51 raid of September '19 (The Biggest Meme this Month and what You need to Know About it)

(talking about the viral 'Area 51' meme)

So what's the hype about? Over the past few days, countless memes have taken over social media platforms like Instagram (I don't have any other to check) but what does it mean? 
The origin of this meme was this Facebook post-





The user has set an event on 20th September, this year to storm Area 51 (a military base in Nevada America that is suspected to hide aliens and alien technology) in which they say that everybody will gather at the Area 51 guest and tour center. The "raid's" "Strength" lies in numbers and the army "Won't be able to stop 'em all".  Surprisingly, more than 850K users were interested and about a million already signed up to go for the event and thus began the circulation of the biggest meme this month.

In fact, celebrities themselves are going along with the joke.
'Old Town Road' star Lil Nas X made a (fourth) remix of said song in honor of the raid.
                               

Other stars include Kevin Jonas, Jeffrey Starr, Miley Cyrus, Pewdiepew and more.


So now, the million-dollar question-
 is this for real, ie; are 1 million People ACTUALLY going to storm a military base in the US?

Well......Nope.

First of all although this was meant as a joke, the hype has gotten so out of hand that the US military actually responded: “[Area 51] is an open training range for the US Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces,” said USAF spokeswoman Laura McAndrews to the Washington Post.

Considering the date for this event is set to 20th September this year, everyone will lose interest. The human attention span is a fickle one and as soon as the next hot meme emerges, this one will only be held in the memory of those poor American area 51 guards who thought they would be trampled by hordes of civilians Naruto-running towards them.

For now, the hardest thing to do is not to figure out how to smuggle the aliens out of Area 51, but how to keep this meme alive for more than 60 days.

 Noah of The Daily Show reminded us, "And let’s be clear. A million people aren’t going to storm Area 51. A million people responded on Facebook,”  

“Which means seven people are going to storm Area 51.”
