The Warm Months at the End of The Year

A poem.   Do you know the difference between warmth and heat? Here are the seasons, Delhi an entity unto its own- its summers hot. Chappal melting to the road, flesh more sweat than skin. Hot says the dog panting in the shade. Hot says the rasp of a construction worker. Hot says the girl fanning her face on her room's floor. It's not warm. Not yet. When summers go, then comes the in between. Humidity sticking in your lungs, slap away the mosquitoes, laugh as your friend's hair sticks up, pout when they laugh at yours. The rains are cool, but it's not warm. Not yet. This is warmth- The end of November, the chill sneaking pollution into my lungs. The heat is no more, and now I can appreciate being warm. The thick blankets being removed from the closet, me pressing my cold feet to your calf. Sit by the road in a patch of sunlight, my face a sunflower seeking the light. In Defence of Media Trials

 So, I was at a debate today, with the topic being "Trial By Media".  Ofc, my partner and I both wanted to speak 'against' , because???? What could you write 'for' the topic???? Apparently, I was going to find out... We decided that a coin toss was fair, and whoever won got 'against'.  I think you can guess who won.... I struggled writing the content, due to there (obviously) being nothing in defense of this issue. So, I had to get creative, read "in between the lines" etc etc. We won third and I'm proud of bringing up points that no one thought of, so I thought I'd share my content, cuz I think it's pretty solid. EPISODE 3 MS MARVEL REVIEW Marveling over Ms Marvel

  Well, y'all know the drill so let's get right into it- Ms. Marvel ep 3! First lemme say, I really felt that Kamala's 'being hero good :D vs being hero bad :( ' internal conflict this episode felt artificial and made up, since we haven't seen enough proof that suggests she doesn't like being one- in the previous episode, she's having fun. But then again, life hits you like a mjolnir to the ribs. One thing I do appreciate tho, is how the makers of the show went the realistic way of depicting the immediate aftermath of gaining powers. Just, Kamala's plans and actions as a teenager with superpowers feel true-to-life. Now, talking about the "twist" supervillains (I say twist with air quotes because it was honestly laughable how quickly they switched up) who are a-okay with blowing up a child if it opens up a gate to their homeworld, who exactly are the 'Clandestines'? EPISODE 2 MS MARVEL REVIEW Like Kamala's bracelet unlocked some power within her, I think Ms. Marvel has unlocked the reviewing power within me. This is my second review for the new marvel show, and frankly, I'm surprised by my initiative. Woohoo, go me I guess.  Welp, onto the meat, ngl, I was rolling my eyes when Kamran showed up and I thought the show was going the route of 'cool guy, girl, nerd' love triangle. Sooo, expectations pleasantly subverted.  (Text in image: I spent way too long on this to express my mild distaste for unnecessary love triangles)  And also, is it just me who thinks the detective guy is the same one from No Way Home? That guy who tricked Ned? Comment below and tell me if you think they're the same. (EP1 REVIEW) Marveling over Ms. Marvel

 EPISODE 1 MS MARVEL REVIEW Was hyped for South East Asian rep in Ms Marvel, and it did not disappoint! I'm Indian, and the family dynamics felt so on point to me, especially kamala's mom. Kamala herself feels like such a relatable character- an excitable fan girl, forced to think about the future and completely avoiding talking about it to fantasize and daydream (some scenes felt like a callout lol)  I hope the 2nd ep properly tells us about kamala's powers, since these ones are a departure from her comic counter part. Overall, the look and aesthetic of the episode confirms that this is Marvel's most visually creative show yet, several shots flowed dynamically, and not a single scene looked boring. I can't wait to see more!  Also, there's just something special about hearing non-english words and songs that you understand lol.  It's too early to rate the show, but i have high expectations now.  EDIT AFTER READING IMDB COMMENTS; Alot of 1 star comments are ...

Why My Birthday is Better than Yours: A Scientific Study

  I f your birthday ends with 3 or 7...you're weird. I'm sorry, I don't make the rules. You're fine if it ends with 2,4,6, or 8. It's even better if it ends with 5, or 0. That's definitely NOT because my birthday is on the 30th. Definitely not. See, it's kind of a personal bias but not really, it's that same logic that dictates we increase or decrease our television volume to a number divisible by either 5 or 2. Any other number just feels weird. My mother and I were having a conversation about the same today and she TOTALLY disagreed with me. That's obviously because she was born on the 17th. Super illogical of her, after all, there's even a psychological reason behind it, and after hours (5 minutes) of researching, I found it- Our number system is based on these:   The fact that we have multiples of 10 (ie: when counting generally, we use 0-10 or 10-20, etc instead of 0-18 or 18-28, etc) Is because of these lovely body parts. The Ramblings of a Quarantined Teenager

A t first, I was thrilled- school was online and all you had to do was occasionally make eye-contact and nod once in a while. No getting up at the ungodly hour of six a.m anymore. But now I realize how it's gone so very wrong. Now, school is just browsing Instagram, a little out of sight, or not even paying attention because "That's ok! I have tuitions!" Our July assessments are going to be digitalized too, and once I heard that, I couldn't even pretend to seriously study anymore. I told my mom about it and she just gave me a look and asked what I was going to do about it. I knew that she knew. It would be wrong to not take advantage of the situation, was what I told her. She simply said that doing it once made it easier to do it in the future- when it wouldn't be as easy to do as it is now. --------------------------- What studying schedule? I'll pick up a textbook sometimes, out of boredom. The only thing I kinda sorta miss about school...
