"Review: The philosopher's stone" ...A Sickle For Your Thoughts?

Aloha and welcome to my very first blog- fiction guru,
here I will give reviews and recommendations for the books/movies I have read/seen.


For starters, lets talk about the magical world of harry potter- 'The philosopher's stone'.

 For those who don't know- this is a book by J.K Rowling about an orphan boy-Harry potter who, on his eleventh birthday gets a visit from a [half]giant who whisks him away from his horrible relatives and tells Harry that he is a wizard!

 Now I'm not going to tell you the rest of the story but give my personal views and thoughts on it and at the end will rate the book out of 5 stars with 1 star being 'not that great' and 5 stars meaning 'excellent'.

 For me, harry potter was a way out of this dreadfully ordinary world and into the bright and colorful world of magic and Hogwarts- a school for witchcraft and wizardry.
This HP book contained friendship, adventure, good antagonists and protagonists, etc.

when I read it I instantly fell in love with the characters because of their detailing and personalities.
 I didn't really like Albus Dumbledore because he seemed like one of those characters that everyone trusted but then that person betrays them and while Dumbledore didn't do that he was oblivious to the fact that one of his colleagues was evil and trying to steal something from under his nose while 3 undertrained pre-teens figured it out and were able to bypass magical security specially cast by Hogwarts' very skilled teachers. 
But in the end, I give this book 4 stars out of 5.

 So, I was at a debate today, with the topic being "Trial By Media".  Ofc, my partner and I both wanted to speak 'against' , because???? What could you write 'for' the topic???? The Warm Months at the End of The Year

A poem.   Do you know the difference between warmth and heat? Here are the seasons, Delhi an entity unto its own- its summers hot. Chappal melting to the road, flesh more sweat than skin. Hot says the dog panting in the shade. Hot says the rasp of a construction worker. Hot says the girl fanning her face on her room's floor. It's not warm. Not yet. When summers go, then comes the in between. Humidity sticking in your lungs, slap away the mosquitoes, laugh as your friend's hair sticks up, pout when they laugh at yours. The rains are cool, but it's not warm. Not yet. This is warmth- The end of November, the chill sneaking pollution into my lungs. The heat is no more, and now I can appreciate being warm. Fan Fiction noun noun:  fan fiction ; noun:  fanfiction fictional literature written by a fan of, and featuring characters from, a particular TV series, film, etc A s a digital writer and reader, you must have tried comparing 'Fanfiction.net' (a.k.a- ff.net) and 'Archive of Our Own'(a.k.a- ao3)- two of the most popular sites for posting fan-fiction (ie; stories where we say screw it and mess with our fav books/movies/fandoms/bands,etc).  Well, you don't have to compare it on your own because I'm here to do it for you! In the end, I hope you find about the pros and cons of both sites and which one might be the best one for you!
